Guwahati, 04 May (HS): Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma responded to the ongoing controversy regarding the Covishield vaccine. The Chief Minister said that the authenticity of Covishield is evident from the fact that Hima Das and Loveleen Bargohain won medals in the Olympics after taking the Covishield vaccine. If the Covishield vaccine had a bad effect, these world champion players would never have got the medal. The Chief Minister said that some people keep speculating without reading. Efforts are being made to spread unnecessary confusion regarding Covishield. He said that it is written that the effect of this vaccine does not last long. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister also gave a statement on this issue on Friday. The Chief Minister had said that it had been written in the report that a reaction can occur within 6 days of taking the vaccine. He said that the leftists started spreading propaganda without understanding and reading anything.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Dr Sarma addressed several election rallies in support of BJP candidate Bijuli Kalita Medhi in the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency. In these programs, the Chief Minister compared the work done during the tenure of Congress and BJP governments. The Chief Minister told how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the country in 10 years. In his address, the Chief Minister criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the policies of the Congress.
