Guwahati, 30 December (HS): Ten national organizations including Sadou Tiwa Students Union announced protest programs in Sonapur. In a press conference on Monday, the organizations made several major demands from the government.

The organizations demanded the withdrawal of the decision to develop Jagiroad into a metropolis and to build an Indian Air Force station in the Village area. According to them, if Jagiroad is made a metropolis, the existence of the tribal community will be in danger.

Apart from this, the tribal organizations alleged that the government wants to build an Air Force station to displace the tribal people from their land.

The organizations planned a movement against the anti-tribal policies of the government. Under the program, Jan Dharna on January 2, Motorcycle Awareness Rally on January 11, Citizen's Assembly on January 24, Strong Demonstration on January 28 and Public Meeting on February 2 were announced. The organizations warned that if the government does not accept their demands, then apart from these programs, a big democratic movement will also be started.
