New Delhi, 30 December (H.S.): Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held the sixth pre-budget consultation meeting with experts and representatives of the health and education sector in the capital New Delhi on Monday.
In the meeting, representatives of the health and education sector gave many suggestions to Sitharaman as part of the preparations for the Union Budget 2025-26.
Chairing the meeting, Sitharaman took suggestions from experts and representatives of the health and education sector.
The meeting was also attended by the Finance Secretary, Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Department of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Department of School Education and Literacy and Department of Health Research, including the Chief Economic Advisor of the country.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the upcoming financial year 2025-26 in Parliament on February 1, 2025. Pre-budget consultation meeting is an essential step in shaping the Union Budget, which promotes economic development. The suggestions received in these meetings help in meeting the needs of various stakeholders.
