New Delhi, 2 January (H.S.): The Central Government on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that it will implement the recommendations of the expert committee on the NEET exams.
After this information from the Center, the court adjourned the hearing of this case for three months. The next hearing of the case will be in April.
During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the Centre, said that the committee has submitted its report to the government and the government will implement all the recommendations. Mehta sought time for this, after which the court adjourned the hearing of the case for four months.
On August 2, 2024, the Supreme Court rejected the petition seeking re-conduct of NEET exam. The Supreme Court had said that there was no systematic breach in the NEET exam. The paper leak happened only in Patna and Hazaribagh. The court had said, We have fixed the scope of work of the committee appointed by the government. Exam security and standard operating procedures will have to be decided under this, which includes reviewing the process of allotment of exam centers, CCTV monitoring of exam centers, ensuring that there is no tampering in the paper and making arrangements for redressal of complaints.
Also, the arrangement of sending the paper in a closed vehicle with real time electronic lock system instead of an open e-rickshaw should be considered.
