Kokrajhar (Assam), 30 December (HS): Vocational training on carpet making organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) located at Telipara of Gosaigaon subdivision concluded successfully on Monday. 15 women and girls were trained in the training camp which started on 24 December under the guidance of KVK's community science expert Parana Sharma.
Carpet making expert Abu Shama Sheikh from Gauripur of Dhubri district trained the women. Certificates were given to the trainees in the closing ceremony today. As the chief guest in the closing ceremony, KVK's in-charge chief scientist Sunil Kumar Pal said that vocational training will help women to move forward, as well as it will help in the development of the society. He said that by taking training in carpet making, women can not only make carpets for their family, but can also make it commercially and get profit. He expressed hope that the women who received training will progress in the future.
In the closing ceremony, community science expert Parana Sharma said that every year KVK provides various types of vocational training to women. Its main objective is to build a strong society by empowering women. He wished a bright future for the women who received training. KVK scientist Dipankar Sakia and many other KVK officers and employees were also present in this program.
