East Medinipur, 26 December (H.S.): The dead body of a Trinamool Congress worker was found at Vrindavan Chowk area of Gokulnagar Panchayat area of Nandigram(1) Block in East Medinipur district on Thursday morning.

According to local and police sources, the name of the dead Trinamool worker was Mahadev Vishisht. He was a booth level worker of the TMC. He was seen in almost all the programmes of the party. He owned a tea and food shop in the market area of Vrindavan Chowk. Allegedly, on Wednesday night, while returning after closing the shop, some miscreants kidnapped him. Vrindavan did not return home at night. On Thursday morning, his blood-soaked body was found in front of the shop. Both the legs of the dead body were broken and there were injury marks on the hands as well. On information, the police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the Trinamool workers of the area protested in front of police.

Trinamool Congress has accused the BJP of this murder. In this context, Trinamool Congress President of Nandigram(1) Block Bappaditya Garg said, Mahadev was an active worker of the party. The BJP killed him in revenge politics. A few days ago, another member of our party was killed. The BJP is constantly doing such things. I demand strict punishment for the culprits.

Notably, on December 8, Tamluk Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank elections were held. The BJP won 13 seats in Nandigram(1) and Nandigram(2) blocks. Bishnupada Mandal of Jalpai No. 7 village of Nandigram(1) was murdered just after BJP's victory. Seventeen days after the incident in Nandigram, another TMC worker has been murdered.
