West Bengal, 26 December (H.S.): The body of a missing fabric businessman from Bandhagachhi area of Guptipara under Balagarh police station in Hooghly district was found hanging in the forest near Tarapur Ganga Ghat in Shantipur in Nadia district on Thursday. According to police sources, the deceased youth Samar Das was a businessman by profession. He had a business of appliqué design on fabric and woodwork.

According to family sources of the deceased, Samar had gone to Shantipur on the morning of 23 December for business. When he did not return and could not be contacted over phone, his family filed a missing report at Balagarh police station. Finally, Samar's body was found hanging in Shantipur on Thursday. According to the family, Samar had a gold chain around his neck and a gold ring on his hand, which were not found. The sim card of his mobile phone was also not found.

Notably, Samar Das had a laser machine in Guptipara to put red border on red sarees of Basanti color. Recently he had installed a machine in Shantipur. Customers from Shantipur started buying cloth from him. He had gone to talk to the traders of Shantipur. Meanwhile, he died mysteriously. The family has demanded a proper investigation into the matter.
