Dibrugarh (Assam), 3 November (HS): Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the 78th Foundation Day celebrations of Assam Medical College as the chief guest. Assam government minister Bimal Bora, MLA Bolin Chetia, Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Saikat Patra along with a large number of dignitaries were also present in the foundation day celebrations held at the John Berry White Auditorium of the college on Sunday. Many types of programs are being organized on the occasion of the foundation day of Assam Medical College.

It is noteworthy that Assam Medical College and Hospital was established in 1947. However, it was established in 1900 as Berry White School and Hospital. Later in the year 1947, it was established as Assam Medical College and Hospital.
