Guwahati, 13 November (HS): The 5th Batch of the training Programme on revised disability assessment guidelines is being organised at GMC Auditorium Ground Floor, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati from 13th November 2024 to 14th November 2024 by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Government of India in collaboration with Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with an aim to train medical professionals across Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura in implementing the revised disability assessment guidelines notified on 12th March, 2024 emphasizing a holistic approach towards disability assessment.
The training will be attended by esteemed dignitaries such as Shri Rajeev Sharma, Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Dr. Rupali Roy, Assistant Director General, Directorate General of Health Services, Govt. of India and Prof. (Dr) Achyut Chandra Baishya, Principal cum Chief Superintendent, Guwahati Medical College & Hospital, Assam. Experts on the respective disabilities, namely- Dr. Sheffali Gulati (AIIMS, Delhi), Dr. Arunabha Chakravarti (LHMC, Delhi), Dr. Mina Chandra (RMLH, Delhi), Dr. Pankaj Verma (Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi), Dr. Diganta Borah (AIIMS, Guwahati), Dr. Manushree Gupta (Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi), Dr. Bhavna Dhingra (AIIMS, Bhopal), Dr. Hari Prakash Puri (RMLH, Delhi), Dr. Satyaranjan Sethi (AIIMS, Guwahat), Dr. Gautam Kamila (AIIMS, Delhi), Shri Prabhakar Upadhyay (LHMC, Delhi) will highlight the nuances and will share their insights on the disabilities as mentioned in the revised assessment guidelines.
