Mumbai Crime Branch teams reaches Kaithal, questioned Gurmel's friends


Kaithal, 18 October (HS): Mumbai Crime Branch officials have started questioning Gurmel's friends to find links in the Baba Siddiqui murder case in Mumbai. The Crime Branch team is also looking for two youths who were the link between Zeeshan Akhtar and Gurmel. The Mumbai Crime Branch team reached Kaithal late Thursday evening. No one except the top police officials has any information about their arrival. According to police sources, both teams include 15 members including two inspectors. They interrogated three youths overnight. Two of these youths are from the village of accused Gurmel, whose names are being told as Shiv Kumar and Arun. Apart from this, a city resident youth Deepak was also called for questioning.

Police teams are gathering information from them by taking links of Gurmel and Zeeshan Akhtar so that the absconding accused Zeeshan can be caught soon. According to the information, accused Zeeshan Akhtar was in contact with the youth of Kaithal and nearby areas to make a sleeper cell for gangsters. Most of them were those who have a criminal record. Zeeshan Akhtar also has many cases registered against him in Punjab. Punjab Police was searching for him, to escape from which he used to spend his time absconding in Kaithal.

Zeeshan Akhtar stayed in Kaithal for one and a half months after coming out of jail

After coming out of jail, accused Zeeshan Akhtar spent about one and a half months absconding in Kaithal before the murder. He stayed in a hotel and private institution in the city in August and September. He also spent a few days in Harsaula village of Kalayat so that the police could not find out his location. He had shown big dreams to all the friends with whom he stayed, who himself also had a hobby of luxury. During this time, Mumbai Crime Branch is questioning all those with whom he came in contact.
