New Delhi, October 17 (HS): Indian Railways has made a big change in the rules of advance ticket booking. Now the time limit for advance reservation has been reduced from 120 days to 60 days. Passengers will now be able to make reservations 2 months in advance instead of 4 months. However, no change has been made in the time limit of 365 days for foreign tourists.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the ministry has reduced the time limit for advance reservation of tickets from 120 days to 60 days excluding the day of travel from November 1. This rule of Railways will come into effect from November 1. The reservation of those who have already made bookings till now will remain intact. Till October 31, people can make reservations for travel within 120 days, but after that the new rule will come into force.

Railway Director Passenger Marketing-II Sanjay Manocha clarified in the circular that there will be no change in the 365-day time limit for foreign tourists. The reduced period of advance reservation of tickets will also not affect the bookings made before October 31. The ministry also clarified that there will be no change in the advance reservation time limit in case of some express trains like Taj Express and Gomti Express, where a reduced time limit is already applicable.
