Kolkata, July 30 (HS): Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, who is suffering from bilateral pneumonia, has been put on a ventilator. He was admitted to Woodland Hospital in Alipore on Saturday afternoon. A team of eight doctors monitored him throughout the night. He has mixed respiratory failure.
After getting Corona infected two years ago, he needed to be put on a ventilator in the hospital. Then there was an infection in his lungs as well. A doctor at the hospital told me on Sunday morning that the former chief minister had breathing problems.
Bhattacharya, who has been suffering from age-related ailments for a long time, has been undergoing treatment at home. His health deteriorated on Saturday morning at his residence on Palm Avenue in Ballygunge. In the afternoon, on the advice of the doctors, he was immediately admitted to the Woodland Hospital in Alipore by making a green corridor.
