Darrang (Assam), 03 October (HS): Panic spread across Mangaldoi on Friday after the body of a local youth was recovered from the Bega River. The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Rinku Das, a resident of Lengripara.

According to family members, Rinku had been missing since Thursday and failed to return home, triggering concern. His sudden death has left relatives shocked, as the circumstances of how he ended up in the river remain unclear. Police are yet to confirm whether it was a case of murder or suicide.

Acting on information from locals, police and SDRF personnel carried out a search operation and retrieved the body, which was later sent to the District Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the incident. The mysterious death has plunged the Lengripara locality into grief, leaving residents stunned and anxious for answers.--------
