Prayagraj, 21 February (HS): Former SP spokesperson Richa Singh, expelled recently for questioning SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya's comment on Ramcharit Manas, has opened up a front against the party.
Richa Singh, who has been continuously questioning the Samajwadi Party's ideology and working style on its Twitter handle, has now complained to the Election Commission to take action against the party.
She mailed a letter to the EC on Tuesday, raising many questions on the SP regarding her expulsion and demanded action. Richa termed her expulsion from SP as undemocratic, humiliating and against the constitution of the party.
She said that why the Samajwadi Party is openly violating its own Article 30 of the Constitution before taking action against female leaders. Every true socialist would definitely want the answer to this, she said.
Richa Singh had commented on Swami Prasad Maurya's statement regarding Ramcharit Manas. SP leader Dr. Roli Tiwari Mishra had also opposed Swami Prasad on this issue. After which both were expelled from the party.
Former media panelist Richa had advised the party office-bearers and workers to avoid debate on religious and communal issues. Swami Prasad was constantly on target for his controversial remarks on Ramcharit Manas. Richa has twice contested against BJP's Siddharth Nath Singh from Prayagraj City West.
