Bhubaneswar, 04 August (H.S.): The third phase of the training programme for Wardens of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) commenced on Tuesday at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar. The programme is being conducted through a collaborative initiative of the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, and the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA).

Inaugurating the session, OSEPA Additional Director Sangeeta Behera, Joint Director Jasmin Pattnaik, and Dr. Sarita M. urged wardens to ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for students residing in KGBVs.

OSEPA Joint Director Dr. Santosh Kumar Rout highlighted that the primary objective of the training is to empower wardens to transform KGBVs into high-quality residential educational institutions. The programme began with a welcome address by OSEPA State Gender Coordinator Lahari Mahanti.

NIEPA Project Director Dr. Santwana Mishra and Dr. Irma Kerketta joined the programme virtually, while DIET faculty members, teacher educators, and District Gender Coordinators participated in the workshop.

More than 70 wardens from two districts of Odisha are attending the training programme, which focuses on strengthening their leadership, management, and student welfare skills in residential school settings.
