Lucknow, August 04 (HS): Suresh Khanna presented

the supplementary budget: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna

presented the supplementary budget. A budget of Rs. 59,019.54 crore was

presented. This includes Rs. 4,722 crore for energy and Rs. 1,655 crore for

social welfare.

Key Allocation Figures:

Total size: Rs. 59,019.54 crore.

Capital expenditure: Rs. 41,620.04 crore for

development.

Revenue expenditure: Rs. 17,399.50 crore for

operating expenditures.

Budget purpose

Complete Schemes: Concentrates extensively on completing

current government initiatives.

Public Interest: Funds vital projects for citizen

wellbeing.

Growth Pace: Aims to accelerate regional economic

development.

Budget for rural development and infrastructure: The

Rural Development Department has received a revenue allocation of Rs. 8,103.51

lakh and a capital allocation of Rs. 14,18,471.95 lakh (approximately Rs. 14,184.72

crore) for rural development and infrastructure strengthening. A total of Rs. 7,02,227.00

lakh (including weighted amounts) has been allocated for the energy sector

(power system) under the revenue head and Rs. 40,000.00 lakh under the capital

head. The Panchayati Raj Department has been provided with a revenue budget of Rs.

15,633.00 lakh and a capital budget of Rs. 13,998.00 lakh to promote local

bodies and regional development.

Budget for agriculture and related sectors: Regarding

agriculture and related sectors, the Agriculture Department has been allocated Rs.

13,237.76 lakh in revenue and Rs. 15,900.00 lakh in capital development. The

Horticulture and Food Processing Department has received Rs. 24,480.37 lakh in

revenue and Rs. 1,005.02 lakh in capital allocation. The Animal Husbandry

Department has received Rs. 2,497.84 lakh in revenue and Rs. 4,486.66 lakh in

capital allocation, the Dairy Development Department has received Rs. 20,425.10

lakh in revenue allocation, the Fisheries Department has received Rs. 300.00

lakh in revenue and Rs. 600.00 lakh in capital allocation, and the Land

Development and Water Resources Department has received a revenue budget of Rs.

200.00 lakh.

Trying to improve people's health: This

supplementary budget provides Rs. ₹10.00 lakh in revenue and Rs. 10.00 lakh in

capital (total Rs. 20.00 lakh) for the Medical Education and Training Division.

The Allopathy Division receives the largest share, with Rs. 1,10,000.00 lakh (Rs.

1,100 crore) in revenue and Rs. 9,600.00 lakh (Rs. 96 crore) in capital. The

Ayurvedic and Unani Division receives Rs. 25.00 lakh in revenue and Rs. 2,300.00

lakh (Rs. 23 crore) in capital. Apart from this, Rs. 70,425.00 lakh (Rs. 704.25

crore) has been approved under revenue head for Family Welfare Division and Rs.

2,015.00 lakh (Rs. 20.15 crore) under revenue head and Rs. 4,050.00 lakh (Rs. 40.50

crore) under capital head for Public Health Division.

Focus on infrastructure development and energy

sector: In the supplementary budget presented for the fiscal year 2026-2027,

the state government has placed special emphasis on industrial development,

infrastructure, and the energy sector. Industrial development and heavy

industries have received the largest share, with the Heavy and Medium

Industries Department receiving a revenue budget of Rs. 1,30,301.92 lakh and a

substantial capital budget of Rs. 20,90,588.00 lakh (approximately Rs. 20,905.88

crore). Furthermore, the Handloom and Textile Industries have received Rs. 1,502.79

lakh in revenue and Rs. 12,500.00 lakh in capital expenditure, while Rs. 2,350.00

lakh has been allocated for capital works in printing and stationery.
