Lucknow, August 04

(HS): During the intense heat of the summer, Uttar Pradesh has created

history in the field of power supply. The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation

Limited (UPPCL) has set a new national record for meeting the highest power

demand in the country, ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the state. According

to official data, Uttar Pradesh successfully met its peak power demand of

32,673 MW on June 24, 2026. This is believed to be the highest power supply

ever achieved by any state. The previous record for peak power demand in Uttar

Pradesh was 31,486 MW, which was surpassed this year.

According

to UPPCL, in the 90 days from May to July 29, Uttar Pradesh was the state

supplying the highest amount of electricity in the country for 49 days. It was

at the second position for 32 days. Maintaining uninterrupted supply despite

consistently high demand is being considered an indication of the capacity and

management of the state's power system. Notably, Uttar Pradesh supplied more

than Maharashtra's highest ever peak demand of 32,317 MW of electricity on five

different days. This highlights the strength of the state's power generation,

procurement, transmission and distribution system.

The

Power Corporation says this achievement was made possible by advance

preparation, additional power purchases, strengthening the transmission

network, and real-time monitoring to meet rising demand. Department officials

attribute this to extensive improvements in Uttar Pradesh's energy

infrastructure. Energy experts believe that the record power supply has

provided relief to industries, agriculture, and domestic consumers and will

also boost the state's economy. Amidst ever-increasing demand, this achievement

further strengthens Uttar Pradesh's position as one of the country's leading

energy states.
