Bhubaneswar, 04 August (H.S.): Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Tuesday conducted an extensive review of flood relief operations in Kendrapada district, visiting several affected villages to assess the ground situation and monitor ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.

During his visit, Singh Deo reached Bhuinpur village under Sansiddha-Petapada Gram Panchayat in Aul block, where he interacted with local residents, listened to their grievances, and evaluated the measures being implemented by the administration.

Earlier in the day, he visited multiple locations in Pattamundai block, including Dandisahi Chhak and Krishnadaspur under Singhagaon Gram Panchayat, Harijan Sahi under Andhar Gram Panchayat, and Jagannathpur under Amrutamanohi Gram Panchayat. At each site, the Deputy Chief Minister engaged with flood-affected families, reviewed the distribution of relief materials, and assessed the effectiveness of the local administration’s response.

Mahakalapada MLA Durga Prasanna Nayak accompanied Singh Deo during the field inspections.

The visit follows Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s recent directive assigning Singh Deo the responsibility of supervising relief and rehabilitation operations in Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts, as the state government intensifies its response to flood conditions triggered by continuous rainfall.

The Odisha government has been carrying out on-ground assessments across affected districts, ensuring the timely supply of relief materials, restoration of essential services, and support for the rehabilitation of displaced families.
