Imphal, 04 August (HS): Security forces on Tuesday recovered a large cache of arms, explosives and ammunition from floating biomass (Phumdi) near the Sendra Hill area of Loktak Lake under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district.

The recovered items included one .32 pistol with a magazine, one SBBL gun, one .22 bolt-action rifle, one Jefferson rifle with a magazine, nine locally made carbine (CMG) firearms with magazines, two locally made MP-5 firearms with magazines, three locally made Lathode guns, two Pompi guns, six IED packets and other miscellaneous accessories.

In a separate development linked to an NDPS case registered at Senapati Police Station, Manipur Police arrested Deep Jyoti Gogoi (32), a resident of Diyun in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district. He was brought to Senapati Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police arrested an active self-styled Major of the banned KCP (Apunba), identified as Arambam Bobo Singh (42), from his residence at Wangoo Mameiching under Wangoo Police Station in Kakching district. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.---------
