Kerala, 04 August (H.S.): Mahatma Gandhi University (MG University) and the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) have postponed a series of examinations scheduled for August following persistent heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions across the State.
MG University authorities said all theory and practical examinations scheduled to be held from August 4 to 7 have been postponed as continuing heavy rain has disrupted normal life and travel in several parts of Kerala.
The university said revised dates for the postponed examinations would be announced later. Candidates have been advised to await further notifications regarding the rescheduled examinations.
The Kerala PSC has also postponed examinations scheduled over the coming days in view of the prevailing weather conditions.
According to officials, all online and OMR-based examinations that were scheduled to be conducted on August 4, 5, 6 and 10 have been deferred. Fresh dates for these examinations will be announced separately.
The adverse weather has also affected the PSC's recruitment process for the post of Beat Forest Officer in the Forest and Wildlife Department.
Physical measurement and physical efficiency tests scheduled for August 4, 5 and 6 as part of the selection process for Beat Forest Officer posts have been postponed.
The affected recruitment categories include 211/2025, 212/2025, 213/2025 and 214/2025 under recruitment by transfer, as well as category number 254/2025 for Ezhava, Thiyya and Billava candidates and 255/2025 for OBC candidates.
The physical tests were scheduled to take place in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod and Wayanad districts.
Officials said the decision to postpone the examinations and physical tests was taken considering the difficulties candidates could face in travelling amid the inclement weather.
The Kerala PSC said revised dates for the postponed physical measurement and efficiency tests would be announced later.
