Prayagraj, 14 Aug (HS): North Central Railway (NCR) has set

a new benchmark in the disposal and sale of scrap during the current financial

year 2026-27. Against the total annual target of Rs. 285 crore assigned by the

Railway Board for the current financial year, NCR has already generated revenue

worth Rs. 201.91 crore by the middle of the second quarter itself.

This impressive achievement marks a growth of 98.30%

compared to the revenue of Rs. 101.82 crore realized during the corresponding

period of the previous financial year 2025-26.

Under the leadership and dynamic directions of General

Manager Naresh Pal Singh, and the guidance of Principal Chief Materials Manager

S.P. Dwivedi, scrap disposal activities are being carried out at an accelerated

pace.

NCR is playing a leading role in the 'Zero Scrap Mission'

initiated by the Railway Board to make railway premises, workshops, and

stations clean, safe, and clutter-free. Rapid disposal of scrap not only

generates substantial revenue for the railways but also frees up valuable

railway land and workplaces for better operational utilization.

This rapid momentum of e-auctions and scrap disposal will be

maintained in the coming months as well. North Central Railway remains fully

committed to achieving the 'Zero Scrap' target, setting new sales records,

maximizing revenue, and ensuring clean and safe premises.
