
Nagpur,
14 Aug (HS): Indian Medical Association, Association of Physicians of India, Vidarbha
Chapter, and Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre have jointly organised an
awareness programme about Organ Donation, at IMA Hall, North Ambazari Road,
Nagpur, from 10 am to 12 noon on August 16.
Nagpur’s
Commissioner of Police Dr Vishwas Nagre Patil will be in the chair. ZTCC Chief
Dr Manish Shrigiriwar and RTO Commissioner Kiran Bidkar will be the guests of
honours.
Ensuring ‘green
corridor’ is important in organ donation as the donated organ should reach the
recipient within the stipulated time. RTO, Police and the organ harvesting hospital
play a major role in this arrangement.
Besides
the guests, API Vidarbha Chapter Chairperson Dr Tanuja Manohar, Chief of the
Scientific Committee Dr Manjusha Mardikar will guide the participants about
importance of organ donation.
Various
other programmes have been organised on the occasion to help the people aware
of the procedure in easy manner. The programmes include a skit, procedure for
organ donation, poem, symposium, sharing experience with the audience and
question-answer session etc.
Mohan
Foundation and Madhav Eye Bank will provide information and process for
registration at the venue.
The
programme will be both in Marathi and Hindi languages.
