Prayagraj, 14 Aug (HS): 16 Up Bn NCC is conducting a

Combined Annual Training camp from 11 to 20 Aug 26 at RDBL College, Nawabganj.

A total of 378 cadets from 25 schools and colleges of the Bn as well as from

other Bns of Prayagraj Gp are attending the camp. The emphasis is on providing

training on regimental life, physical fitness, drill and teaching them the

subjects of NCC aligned with laid down syllabus. Col Nitin Jha, CO of 16 UP Bn

NCC is the Camp Comdt. He is assisted by a team of 30 plus staffs incl PI

staff, ANOs and civilian staff.

In addition to the normal training of NCC cadets a

specialised and target oriented training of select 55 cadets from across UP

code named “Super 55” is also being conducted. These meritorious cadets from

all the Groups of UP Directorate are being trained to successfully negotiate

Service Selection Boards tests conducted for selection of officers in Indian

armed forces. The group consists of 30 boys and 25 girls. A Team of three

officers led by Col Nishant Bariar of 16 UP Bn NCC are providing a wholesome and

rigorous training to the cadets.

Brig US Kandil, Group Commander, Prayagraj Group on 13 Aug

26 visited the camp location. He was briefed about the layout of camp and

training being provided to the cadets, by the Camp Commandant. Commander later

on reviewed by Quarter Guard, interacted with “Super 55” cadets and briefed

them in length about the prospects in Indian Army as an officer. He also

provided detailed insight towards the selection procedure as an officer, by

various Officers training establishments like NDA, IMA, OTA, AFA, NA etc,

informed Wg Cdr Debartho Dhar, Pro & Spokesperson, Ministry of

Defence, Prayagraj.
