President Droupadi Murmu will unveil the statue of nation-builder, eminent social reformer, educationist, and freedom fighter Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das at Lajpat Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday. The ceremony, organised by the Lok Sevak Mandal, will commence at 11:15 a.m.
According to information released by the Lok Sevak Mandal, President Murmu, as the chief guest, will unveil the first statue of Gopabandhu Das to be installed in New Delhi. The event will be attended by several Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, public representatives from various states, educationists, social workers, eminent citizens, and a large number of office-bearers and members of the Lok Sevak Mandal.
Rajkumar Chopra, National President of the Lok Sevak Mandal, said the objective of the programme is to carry the ideals of Gopabandhu Das's service to the nation, commitment to education, social dedication, and public welfare to people across the country, while inspiring the younger generation through his life and work. He added that the ceremony would serve as an important initiative to commemorate Gopabandhu Das's enduring contributions and to promote his vision and values among a wider section of society.
