New Delhi, 06 July (H.S.): The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the recruitment results for more than 460 faculty positions across over 50 medical specialties, marking the first time the institute has used secure blockchain technology in its selection process to ensure confidentiality, transparency, and the integrity of official records.

According to the institute, the blockchain-based digital system was introduced to make the recruitment process more secure, transparent, and tamper-resistant. The technology significantly reduces the possibility of data manipulation while enhancing the credibility and fairness of the selection process.

In a statement issued on Monday, AIIMS said the recruitment results cover more than 460 vacant faculty positions, ranging from Assistant Professor to Professor, across over 50 disciplines at AIIMS and the AIIMS–Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) campus.

More than 3,200 candidates had applied for 265 faculty positions at AIIMS and 199 positions at the AIIMS-CAPFIMS campus.

The six-month recruitment exercise incorporated blockchain digital technology throughout the process to maintain strict confidentiality and transparency. To ensure complete integrity, candidates' evaluation marks were digitally locked using a One-Time Password (OTP)-based security mechanism.

The institute said the final merit list was generated automatically by software using the secured marks and a pre-defined algorithm. Human intervention was limited solely to resolving cases where candidates obtained identical scores, while all other aspects of the merit list preparation were carried out through the automated system.

AIIMS said the adoption of blockchain technology represents a significant step toward strengthening transparency, fairness, and trust in large-scale public recruitment processes.
