Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday chaired a review meeting of the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) in New Delhi to assess the progress of key infrastructure projects being developed across the country. The review focused on the implementation of Multimodal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), ropeways, intermodal stations, and wayside amenities.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Gadkari reviewed the project-level progress of these initiatives and emphasised the need for their timely execution, describing them as critical components in building a future-ready integrated transport ecosystem for the country.
During the meeting, Gadkari said these transformative projects would strengthen multimodal connectivity, create new economic opportunities, promote balanced regional development, and enhance India's logistics competitiveness. He added that developing a modern and integrated transport network is a significant step towards achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The minister said the timely completion of these projects would improve efficiency in the logistics sector, reduce freight transportation costs, and provide world-class facilities for travellers. He noted that the initiatives would play a vital role in advancing the goals of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and a developed India.
Gadkari also reviewed the challenges and bottlenecks affecting the implementation of various projects. He directed officials to resolve all pending issues on a priority basis and accelerate project execution to ensure that the works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
