Kolkata, 28 July (H.S.): Monsoon activity is expected to remain active across West Bengal on Tuesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in most parts of the state. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the districts of Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, Purulia and adjoining areas of south Bengal.

According to the weather office, gusty winds with speeds of 30–50 kmph may affect coastal districts, including Purba Medinipur and South 24 Parganas. Maximum temperatures across the state are expected to remain between 28°C and 31°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 26°C. Relative humidity is expected to range between 85 and 94 per cent, resulting in humid conditions.

In south Bengal, including Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia and neighbouring districts, the sky is expected to remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely during the afternoon or evening.

In north Bengal, rainfall is also expected to continue in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts.

For Kolkata, the IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of around 31°C and a minimum of 26°C on Tuesday. The city is expected to witness cloudy skies throughout the day, with intermittent spells of rain and thunderstorms.
