
Lucknow, 28 July (HS): To mark the 650th birth anniversary
of Sant Shiromani Ravidas, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will organize department-level
harmony marches across the country. VHP Central Minister and All India Social
Harmony Chief Devji Bhai Rawat said that Sant Ravidas's message of social
harmony, equality, and spirituality remains as relevant and inspiring for
society today.
Devji Bhai Rawat said, “VHP will organize various programs
across the country, including Harmony Yatras, to effectively convey the
thoughts of Saint Ravidas and his message of social harmony to every section of
society. He added that each state will decide the dates of the Harmony Yatras
as per its convenience. The Harmony Yatra will be held in Awadh province between
September 27 and October 4.
He said that from the birthplace of Ravidas ji to his
samadhisthan, wherever there are places and temples associated with him,
harmony marches will be organized. Saints will also participate in the
padyatras. Harmony feasts will be organized at the block level.
Apart from this, this year VHP will also run a membership
drive from 22 November to 13 December. This time the organisation has set a
target of making more than two crore members. VHP will also celebrate the birth
centenary year of Ashok Singhal. During this, various programmes including cow
conference, farmer conference, Veda Vidyalaya gathering, harmony seminars,
goodwill meetings and training classes for Archak-Purohit and Sarvajati Purohit
will be organised. Along with Sant Ravidas Jayanti, VHP will also organise
programmes for the birth centenary of Ashok Singhal. Ashok Singhal was born on
27 September 1926. He died on 17 November 2015.
