After assuming charge as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Satya Sharma on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, Satya Sharma apprised Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of the key priorities and action plan for the upcoming tenure of the Standing Committee. She said that her tenure would be based on five major commitments — Clean Delhi, Healthy Delhi, Educated Delhi, Good Governance, and an Empowered Corporation.
She stated that through these priorities, civic services provided by the Municipal Corporation would be made more effective, transparent and citizen-centric.
Satya Sharma said special focus would be given to strengthening sanitation services, improving solid waste management, enhancing healthcare facilities in MCD hospitals and public health services, promoting quality education in municipal schools, and ensuring transparent and accountable administration. She added that efforts would also be made to further strengthen the corporation financially and administratively.
She said that with the cooperation of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Delhi Government under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi would accelerate development works aimed at public welfare. She expressed confidence that coordinated efforts would further strengthen the goal of making Delhi cleaner, healthier, more developed and citizen-friendly.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta congratulated Satya Sharma on assuming charge as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee. She expressed hope that the MCD would continue to work effectively towards providing better facilities and services to the citizens of Delhi.
