Lucknow, 28 July (HS): Under the ongoing Museum Project in

Uttar Pradesh, new museums related to historical, cultural, and freedom

struggle are being established. This initiative will preserve the state's rich

heritage and prove useful for tourists and researchers. The Uttar Pradesh

Department of Culture has seven major museums under construction. These include

museums in Gorakhpur, Barabanki, Varanasi, Kaushambi and Sultanpur, Ayodhya,

Lucknow, and Bijnor. This information was provided by the state's Tourism and

Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh.

He said on Tuesday that the Gorkha Museum in Gorakhpur will

house historical documents, military equipment, and the heroic tales of Gorkha

warriors, focusing on the valor, sacrifice, and military history of the Gorkha

Regiment. Similarly, a museum will be built in Barabanki in memory of Padma

Shri Babu KD Singh. Furthermore, the Sant Ravidas Museum and Cultural Center is

under construction in Varanasi, which will be dedicated to the life, teachings,

and contributions of Sant Ravidas to the Bhakti movement.

He informed that District Museums are also being constructed

in Kaushambi and Sultanpur, where documents related to ancient to modern

history will be displayed, focusing on the historical and archaeological

significance of Kaushambi and Sultanpur. The District Freedom Struggle Museum,

under construction in Ayodhya, will house the biographies, correspondence, and

rare photographs of freedom fighters.

Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Culture Museum in Lucknow

will feature interactive exhibitions and a multimedia gallery focused on the

state's cultural heritage, folk art, music, dance, and traditions. Jaiveer

Singh informed that the Late Dushyant Kumar Museum is being constructed in

Bijnor district, dedicated to the memory of Ghazal maestro Dushyant Kumar, and

will house his works, manuscripts, and literary contributions. He added that

the construction of these museums will provide tourists and visitors with an

opportunity to learn about their past and cherish their memories, while also

providing a wealth of material for researchers. The state government's Culture

Department is establishing museums with the aim of preserving the state's glorious

heritage, centers of consciousness, and the contributions of great men, and

handing them over to future generations.
