Jhargram, 28 July (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will visit Jhargram on August 9 to participate in the World Tribal Day celebrations. This will be his first visit to the district since assuming office as Chief Minister. The district administration has stepped up preparations ahead of the visit.

A high-level preparatory meeting was held at the Jhargram District Magistrate's office on Monday evening to review arrangements for the event. The meeting was attended by Tribal Development Minister Kshudiram Tudu, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Animal Husbandry and Animal Resources Development Rajesh Mahato, Minister of State for Agriculture Amiya Kisku, Jhargram MLA Laxmikanta Sahu, Binpur MLA Pranat Tudu, District Magistrate Akanksha Bhaskar, Superintendent of Police Manav Singla, and other senior officials from the district administration and police.

According to administrative sources, the Chief Minister will arrive in Jhargram by helicopter on August 9. Besides attending the main World Tribal Day programme, he is also expected to review matters related to the district. Elaborate security arrangements and other logistical preparations are being made to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit.
