New Delhi, 24 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared a Sanskrit subhashit (wise saying), highlighting the importance of adopting positive thoughts, gentle speech and noble actions in life. He said that the thoughts, words and deeds a person repeatedly practises eventually shape their personality and determine the direction of their life.
Sharing the Sanskrit verse on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote:
कर्मणा मनसा वाचा यदभीक्ष्णं निषेवते।
तदेवापहरत्येनं तस्मात् कल्याणमाचरेत्॥
The verse conveys that the tendencies a person repeatedly follows through their actions, thoughts and speech gradually influence their nature and character. Over time, these habits shape an individual’s personality and guide them towards a particular path in life.
Prime Minister Modi said that every person should therefore cultivate positivity in their thoughts, kindness in their speech and a spirit of public welfare in their actions.
He added that following righteous and constructive conduct not only strengthens an individual’s character but also enables them to make a meaningful contribution towards the development of society and the nation.
