
New Delhi, 24 July (H.S.): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended their best wishes to the members of the Indian contingent participating in the Commonwealth Games 2026, which has commenced in Glasgow, Scotland.
In a post on X, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said, “I extend my heartfelt best wishes to every member of the Indian contingent participating in the Commonwealth Games. I hope our athletes will display unwavering determination, exceptional skill and the true spirit of sportsmanship while striving to bring glory to the nation. I wish them outstanding success in every event.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his best wishes to the Indian contingent taking part in the Games. He said that he was confident the athletes would compete with enthusiasm, determination and a commitment to excellence.
“The talent and dedication of our athletes have always inspired countless Indians. I wish the entire Indian contingent all the very best for the Commonwealth Games,” the Prime Minister said.
It may be noted that the Commonwealth Games 2026 were inaugurated in Glasgow on Thursday night. The Games will be held from July 23 to August 2, with thousands of athletes representing 74 Commonwealth Games Associations competing for medals across various sporting disciplines.
