New Delhi, 24 July (H.S.): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has secured the deportation of wanted accused Muhammadali Kannir Palliyalil from Saudi Arabia to India. He was wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with cases related to unlawful activities and murder. He was brought back to India from Saudi Arabia on July 23.

The CBI said that the deportation was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to the agency, Muhammadali Kannir Palliyalil, along with his associates, had allegedly entered a person’s shop as part of a larger conspiracy while carrying deadly weapons. The accused allegedly restrained the victim illegally and attacked him with lethal weapons, resulting in his death.

On the request of the NIA, the CBI had facilitated the issuance of a Red Notice against the accused through Interpol. His presence was later traced in Saudi Arabia, following which authorities there arrested him.

Subsequently, the Government of India submitted an extradition request to the Saudi Arabian authorities. After completion of all legal procedures, Saudi Arabia deported the accused to India.

The CBI stated that the operation was successfully carried out with the coordination of international agencies and various Indian ministries. Further legal proceedings in the matter will now be conducted by the NIA.
