Guwahati, 24 July (HS): Dispur MLA Pradyut Bordoloi on Friday alleged that Meghalaya also shares responsibility for the recurring flood situation in Guwahati. MLA was talking to media persons while came to attend the ongoing Assam assembly station.

He said illegal encroachments continue at several locations across the city, worsening the drainage system and aggravating waterlogging during heavy rainfall.

The legislator asserted that the Assam government would take a tough stand against illegal encroachments. He further claimed that rampant encroachment has significantly contributed to the severe artificial floods witnessed in Guwahati in recent years.-----------
