Guwahati, 24 July (HS): A massive landslide struck Swargapur in Guwahati's Basistha area on Friday, leaving several houses under imminent threat. Soil and large boulders from the adjoining Meghalaya hills crashed into the locality, damaging multiple homes.

The landslide has severely affected residential structures, with mud and rocks breaching several houses. Residents are living in fear as the unstable hillside continues to pose a serious risk.

Authorities have been alerted, while locals expressed concern that the affected houses could collapse at any moment if further soil erosion or fresh landslides occur. Emergency measures are expected to be taken to prevent any loss of life.------------
