Guwahati, 24 July (HS): The strong current of the Jaji River has washed away a portion of the Teok–Bonai connecting road, disrupting communication in the area. Several localities in Teok remain inundated, with many residents still stranded amid the continuing flood situation.
Meanwhile, eight engine-powered boats have been dispatched from Jonai to assist in rescuing people trapped by floodwaters in Sivasagar, Charaideo and Nazira.
The rescue mission has been launched by the Jonai sub-divisional administration with the support of Mising community organisations to evacuate stranded residents and provide relief in the flood-affected areas.------------
