New Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of undermining India's education system and jeopardising the future of the country's youth. He alleged that the government had allowed the education system to deteriorate while protecting those responsible for its decline.

Backing the demands of protesting students, Ramesh called for the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from office, a public apology to students, and action against those allegedly responsible for violence against student protesters.

In a post on X, Jairam Ramesh said Prime Minister Modi had caused the greatest damage to the future of India's youth. He alleged that the government had allowed the education system to collapse and had shielded those responsible for its deterioration.

He said the students' demands were clear. The first demand is the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from office. The second is an apology to students. The third is strict action against those responsible for the alleged violence against student protesters.

Ramesh further alleged that repeated examination paper leaks, delays in recruitment processes and growing irregularities in the education system have affected millions of students across the country. He claimed that no effective action has been taken against those responsible for these issues and accused the government of failing to take students' concerns seriously.
