Bhubaneswar, 11 July (H.S.): Fakir Mohan University has announced the schedule for the long-awaited 7th Semester B.Sc. Nursing (Regular) examinations, bringing relief to hundreds of students who had been protesting over prolonged delays in the completion of their academic programme.
The examination schedule was issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations for students admitted during the 2021–22 and 2022–23 academic sessions.
The announcement comes days after nursing students from several affiliated private colleges staged a sit-in protest outside the university, alleging that their four-year B.Sc. Nursing programme had extended beyond six years as the seventh and eighth semester examinations remained pending. The students had demanded immediate intervention to ensure the timely conduct of the examinations.
According to the official notification, the theory examinations will be held on July 14 and July 15, 2026, while the practical examinations are scheduled for July 17 and July 18, 2026.
The theory papers will cover Community Health Nursing and Midwifery/Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBG) Nursing, with all examinations scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The university has designated the Administrative Building at the Old Campus, Januganj, Remuna Golei, Balasore, as the examination centre for colleges in Balasore district, while Bhadrak (Auto) College will serve as the centre for candidates from Bhadrak district.
The notification further directs affiliated colleges to report any omissions or scheduling conflicts to the Office of the Controller of Examinations without delay. It also states that practical examination marks must be submitted by 3:00 PM on July 18, 2026.
The release of the examination schedule is expected to provide significant relief to nursing students whose academic progress and career prospects had been affected by the prolonged delay. The university has instructed all affiliated nursing colleges to promptly circulate the examination programme among the concerned students.
