Guwahati, 11 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday reiterated his government's commitment to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of food security benefits.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister said that under the 'Anna Seva Diwas' initiative, the government is not only distributing food grains free of cost but is also working diligently to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of the food security scheme.

He added that, besides providing services through fair price shops, the government is delivering essential food supplies directly to the doorsteps of beneficiaries who are unable to visit the shops due to physical disabilities or other constraints.

Dr. Sarma said the initiative reflects the government's commitment to the principle of Antyodaya, ensuring that welfare schemes reach the last person in society.----------
