- Visits Under-Construction Paltan Bazar Police Outpost

Guwahati, 11 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday visited the memorial site of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Jalukbari and announced a series of initiatives to preserve and enhance the iconic cultural landmark.

The Chief Minister said new arrangements would be made at the memorial and a modern memorial complex befitting the legacy of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika would be constructed. He added that the site would be developed in a way that visitors could instantly recognise it as the resting place of the legendary music maestro.

Dr. Sarma also announced that digital features would be introduced at Samannay Tirtha, an open-air theatre would be built and a government committee would be constituted for the management and maintenance of the memorial complex.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister also inspected the under-construction Paltan Bazar Police Outpost in Guwahati and reviewed the progress of the project.-----------
