Bhubaneswar, 11 July (H.S.): The Odisha Government has directed all District Collectors and District Magistrates to submit updated information on Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRSs) who have completed five years or more of continuous service, as part of an exercise to create a consolidated state-level database.

In a letter issued on July 10, 2026, Under Secretary to Government Namita Sahoo (OSS) instructed all district administrations to furnish the required information within 15 days in the prescribed format.

According to the communication, the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department is compiling a comprehensive database of eligible Gram Rozgar Sevaks for administrative and policy-related purposes. The government has sought detailed information, including the date of appointment, length of continuous service, present place of posting, and current service status of all GRSs who have completed at least five years of uninterrupted service.

The letter also recalls that district-wise information on eligible Gram Rozgar Sevaks had earlier been sought while examining proposals for their absorption into the post of Accountant-cum-Data Entry Operator (ADEO). It noted that similar information may be required periodically for policy formulation and for furnishing details to various authorities.

All Collectors have been asked to ensure that the updated particulars of eligible Gram Rozgar Sevaks working in their respective districts are submitted within the stipulated timeline to facilitate the government's administrative review and future policy decisions.
