Dhubri (Assam), 07 June (HS): Gauripur Police arrested three alleged smugglers and seized a fake gold boat-shaped item weighing around 2.15 kilograms during an operation at Khudimari in Dhubri district, police officials informed on Sunday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mahir Uddin of Bangalmara in Lakhimpur, Jahirul Islam of Khudimari and Faizal Haque of Phulkatari. The police apprehended them during a targeted raid based on specific inputs.

According to police sources, the counterfeit gold recovered during the operation weighs approximately 2.15 kg. The seized material has been taken into custody for further examination.

Police have launched a detailed investigation and are continuing marathon interrogation of the accused to gather more information about the alleged smuggling network and its possible links. Further details are awaited.----------
