Lucknow, 07 June (HS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader

and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Sunday

that the picture of cleanliness has changed due to public participation in the

12 years of the Modi government. In his social media post, the Deputy Chief

Minister wrote that for decades, cleanliness was not an issue for previous

governments. Problems like lack of toilets in villages, piles of garbage in

cities and open defecation were the compulsions for millions of people. But

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made cleanliness a matter of public participation.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan changed the country's thinking, changed behavior and

also worked to change the face of India.

Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote that today, more than 120 million

toilets have been constructed across the country, providing a dignified life to

millions of families, especially mothers and sisters. Rural sanitation

coverage, which was approximately 39 percent in 2014, has reached nearly 100

percent today. This sanitation campaign has not only helped reduce disease but

has also significantly improved public health, tourism, and living standards.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that this is the new work

culture of the Modi government's 12 years, where schemes become a means of

bringing change in the lives of the people. Under the Prime Minister's

leadership, cleanliness has become both a habit and a culture in the country.

Clean India has now become the strong foundation of Healthy

India, giving new strength to the resolve for a developed India. 12 years

of trust, development, and public welfare.
