
Bajali (Assam), 07 June (HS): Assam Police launched a crackdown on cybercrime in Bajali district and arrested four persons allegedly involved in a cyber fraud network. The arrests were made during an operation carried out by Sarupeta Police.
According to police, the accused were allegedly withdrawing money collected through online frauds targeting people in different states by using Customer Service Points (CSPs). The illegal transactions reportedly led to the freezing of several CSP operators' bank accounts.
Following the disruption of their accounts, CSP owners informed the police, prompting an investigation into the matter. Acting on the information, Sarupeta Police identified and apprehended the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aditya Tiwari and Rahul Kumar from Bihar, along with Jitumoni Roy of Hakartop village and Ranjan Das of Puthimari village.
Police also seized multiple bank account details, ATM cards and various documents linked to different individuals from the possession of the accused. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the cyber fraud network and identify other possible links.----------
