Lucknow, 04 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath has issued strict instructions to conduct extensive and intensive

inspections of all multi-storey buildings, government and private offices,

commercial establishments, government and non-government hospitals and hotels

to ensure fire safety in the state. After the fire incident in Delhi, Chief

Minister Yogi has directed the concerned departments to inspect and ensure

whether all fire safety measures are in place in the concerned buildings.

Otherwise, in case of an incident, action will be taken against the responsible

officials. It is believed that now action like bulldozers can be taken against

hotels, shops, showrooms and other establishments violating the rules.

A tragic fire at a hotel in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, has

claimed 21 lives and injured many others. In light of this incident, Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to ensure fire safety measures

in buildings across Uttar Pradesh to protect lives in case of any accident.

Describing life as precious, Chief Minister Yogi urged people to be protected

from fire and other accidents in buildings. To this end, officials from the

Public Works Department, Electrical Safety Directorate, local and municipal

bodies, Public Works Department, and related institutions should conduct

thorough inspections of buildings in their respective areas to determine

whether safety standards are being followed. Review the availability of firefighting

equipment. If safety standards are not being followed, take necessary action

and ensure compliance with these standards to prevent accidents.

The Chief Minister further said in his order that

instructions have been given to departments like Fire Safety, PWD etc. to

conduct fire safety audits. All hotels should be audited after conducting

special inspections. Fire extinguishing equipment, emergency exits and water

availability should be thoroughly checked in all premises. Strict legal action will

be taken against any buildings or hotels found to be ignoring safety rules

during the inspection. He clearly said that all departments should coordinate

with each other and complete the safety audit as soon as possible and get the

deficiencies rectified. Any kind of compromise with the safety of the public

will not be tolerated. After the Chief Minister's order, the action of the

administration and police force has intensified.
