
Lucknow, 04 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath has issued strict instructions to conduct extensive and intensive
inspections of all multi-storey buildings, government and private offices,
commercial establishments, government and non-government hospitals and hotels
to ensure fire safety in the state. After the fire incident in Delhi, Chief
Minister Yogi has directed the concerned departments to inspect and ensure
whether all fire safety measures are in place in the concerned buildings.
Otherwise, in case of an incident, action will be taken against the responsible
officials. It is believed that now action like bulldozers can be taken against
hotels, shops, showrooms and other establishments violating the rules.
A tragic fire at a hotel in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, has
claimed 21 lives and injured many others. In light of this incident, Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to ensure fire safety measures
in buildings across Uttar Pradesh to protect lives in case of any accident.
Describing life as precious, Chief Minister Yogi urged people to be protected
from fire and other accidents in buildings. To this end, officials from the
Public Works Department, Electrical Safety Directorate, local and municipal
bodies, Public Works Department, and related institutions should conduct
thorough inspections of buildings in their respective areas to determine
whether safety standards are being followed. Review the availability of firefighting
equipment. If safety standards are not being followed, take necessary action
and ensure compliance with these standards to prevent accidents.
The Chief Minister further said in his order that
instructions have been given to departments like Fire Safety, PWD etc. to
conduct fire safety audits. All hotels should be audited after conducting
special inspections. Fire extinguishing equipment, emergency exits and water
availability should be thoroughly checked in all premises. Strict legal action will
be taken against any buildings or hotels found to be ignoring safety rules
during the inspection. He clearly said that all departments should coordinate
with each other and complete the safety audit as soon as possible and get the
deficiencies rectified. Any kind of compromise with the safety of the public
will not be tolerated. After the Chief Minister's order, the action of the
administration and police force has intensified.
