Pune, 04 June (HS): The

Crime Investigation Department of Maharashtra Police have arrested two suppliers

of poisonous chemicals, related to surious country made liquor in Dapod and

Hadapsar in Pune district. Arun Jagdamb Choubey (59) and his son Abhishek Arun Chobey

(34) were arrested from Washi area in Navi Mumbai.

Both were presented in a Pimpri Court, which

remanded them to police custody for four days. The spurious liquor killed more

than 20 people and some others are being treated. The case was handed over to

CID after initial enquiry by Pune Police, as involvement of police personnel

was suspected in the racket of illicit liquor trade.

CID is investigating into the chain of suppliers of

illicit liquor and chemicals for adulteration.
