Bhubaneswar, 04 June (H.S.): India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Thursday said that there is currently no specific forecast regarding the onset of the southwest monsoon over Odisha, although weather conditions remain favourable for its further advancement into the state.

Addressing the media, Dr. Mohapatra stated that the IMD is closely monitoring the progress of the monsoon and will issue an official announcement once conditions become suitable for its arrival over Odisha.

“While no definite date has been forecast for the onset of the southwest monsoon in Odisha, the prevailing atmospheric and oceanic conditions are conducive for its advancement,” he said.
