Bhubaneswar, 04 June (H.S.): Odisha’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, launched by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to ensure a more accurate, transparent, and error-free electoral roll, has successfully entered its sixth day, recording significant progress across the state.

According to official data, as of 6:00 PM on Thursday, enumeration forms had been distributed to 1,02,32,279 voters, accounting for 30.64 per cent of the state’s total electorate. The milestone reflects the strong response received from voters and the extensive efforts undertaken by election officials at the grassroots level.

To ensure the success of the revision exercise, 45,255 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been deployed across Odisha. BLOs are conducting door-to-door visits in urban, rural, tribal, and remote areas to distribute enumeration forms and collect voter information.

During the enumeration process, each voter is being provided with two pre-printed copies of the Enumeration Form (Annexure-III). After the forms are completed, BLOs retain one copy and return the second copy, duly signed, to the voter as an acknowledgement receipt. Voters have been advised to preserve the receipt for future reference.

The state administration has intensified public awareness efforts to maximize participation in the campaign. District administrations across Odisha have launched extensive outreach programmes aimed at ensuring that every eligible voter is covered under the revision exercise.

Awareness vehicles are travelling through villages to educate citizens about the process, while urban areas are witnessing widespread publicity through public announcements, hoardings, LED displays, and social media campaigns. Traditional folk media, including Pala, Daskathia, and other cultural performances, are also being used in rural areas to spread awareness about voter registration and verification.

In addition, speech, drawing, and rangoli competitions are being organized to encourage participation among first-time and young voters.

The election authorities have clarified that no additional documents are being collected from voters during the enumeration process, making participation simple and hassle-free. Voters may also download the form from the Election Commission’s official portal, voters.eci.gov.in, fill in the required details, and submit it online.

To ensure transparency and effective coordination, 33,026 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by various political parties are also assisting BLOs in field-level activities. The Election Department and district administrations have taken comprehensive measures to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the revision process.
