
Bhubaneswar, 04 June (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the demise of eminent Odia litterateur and former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Dr Jagannath Prasad Das, describing his passing as an irreparable loss to the literary and cultural world.
In a condolence message posted on his official X handle, the Chief Minister paid rich tributes to Dr Das, acknowledging his remarkable contributions both as a distinguished administrator and as one of Odisha’s most celebrated literary figures.
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing of eminent litterateur Dr Jagannath Prasad Das. He was not only an accomplished writer of exceptional calibre but also a highly competent IAS officer. Throughout his distinguished career, he served the people with dedication in several key positions in the Odisha Government as well as the Government of India,” the Chief Minister stated.
Majhi noted that Dr Das had left an indelible mark across multiple branches of literature through his creativity, intellectual depth, and artistic excellence. His contributions enriched Odia literature and culture, earning him widespread recognition and admiration from readers, scholars, and artists alike.
The Chief Minister further said that Dr Das’s demise has created a void that will be difficult to fill. Extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
